"MALLE MARS"

In commemoration of the 40th Anniversary of Apollo 11’s first lunar landing, which takes place on Jul 20th, Louis Vuitton has designed a custom-made “Malle Mars” trunk.

The robotic, space age-looking piece opens in multiple places, unveiling a variety of compartments and drawers, fully equipped to carry various essential items.

The trunk will be on display this coming Monday, at the Rose Center for Earth and Space at the American Museum of Natural History, being exhibited with other NASA memorabilia. History-making astronauts Buzz Aldrin, Jim Lovell and Sally Ride will be in attendance along with Louis Vuitton North America president and chief executive officer Daniel Lalonde.

LOUIS VUITTON SPEEDY CONCEPT STORE

The Speedy is one of the better known Louis Vuitton bag styles and for the occasion they created some great installations, using hundreds of bags.

LOUIS VUITTON UNDERGROUND

Louis Vuitton recently opened their new temporary /underground/ store in Tokyo.
The store is completely different in terms of interior than other Vuitton spaces and takes a more raw and industrial approach.
Overall a very interesting concept and new route for the French luxury goods company.

LV x TAKASHI MURAKAMI DESIGNER QR CODES

“QR Codes are the bar codes of the future, linking online and physical graphics to websites and multi-media. For the most part, the codes have still maintained an abstract look akin to their predecessors.

A newly released designer QR symbol, produced by Tokyo based creative agency SET is looking to change all that with a stylized remake of the standard code.

Mixing design with technological innovation, SET teamed up Takashi Murakami with Louis Vuitton to create a distinctive code featuring one of the artist’s characters and the classic LV pattern.

The agency hopes this will add much needed style and character to the bland world of machine readable codes”
